SMS Acceptable Use Policy

Flat Rate Plus Online® Text Messaging • operated by Aptora Corporation

This policy applies to every business that uses the text messaging feature in Flat Rate Plus Online®. By enabling texting, your business agrees to it.

1. You Are the Sender

When you send text messages through Flat Rate Plus Online®, your business is the sender and is solely responsible for the messages and for how the recipients’ mobile numbers were obtained. Aptora Corporation provides the software and messaging connectivity; it does not review or approve the individual messages you send.

2. Consent Is Required Before You Text Anyone

You may only text a customer who has given you their mobile number and agreed to receive text messages from your business — for example, by asking you to send an estimate or invoice by text, or by providing their number and consent in person, by phone, or through your own website or forms. You must never text people who have not opted in, and you must never use purchased, rented, or third-party lists. See the opt-in overview and the SMS Terms & Conditions.

3. Honor Opt-Out and Help Requests

You must honor STOP requests immediately — the platform blocks a number automatically when a recipient replies STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT), and you must not attempt to circumvent that. You must also respond to HELP requests with your business name and support contact.

4. Message Content Rules

Every message must clearly identify your business and must be relevant to the customer’s request or service. Keep frequency reasonable. Messages must be truthful and must not be deceptive, misleading, or unsolicited marketing to non-consenting recipients.

5. Prohibited Content

You may not send messages related to, or containing:
  • The regulated “SHAFT” categories: Sex or adult content, Hate speech, Alcohol, Firearms, or Tobacco or vaping (including cannabis / CBD).
  • Anything illegal, or the promotion of illegal goods, services, or drugs.
  • High-risk financial services, get-rich-quick schemes, payday or short-term loans, debt collection or debt reduction offers, or gambling.
  • Phishing, fraud, scams, deceptive marketing, or malware / malicious links.
  • Hateful, harassing, profane, or threatening content, or anything that violates the law, carrier rules, or the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices.

6. Compliance With Laws and Carrier Rules

You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and industry rules governing text messaging, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the CAN-SPAM Act, state messaging laws, the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices, and the requirements of The Campaign Registry (TCR) and the mobile carriers for A2P 10DLC messaging.

7. Suspension for Violations

Aptora may suspend or terminate your access to text messaging, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated this policy, applicable law, or carrier requirements, or if a carrier or messaging provider requires it. You remain responsible for any messages sent from your account.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, carrier rules, or our service. Continued use of the texting feature after an update means you accept the updated policy.
